PERTANIKA
Journal of Quality of Life Studies

Journal Overview
The Pertanika Journal of Quality of Life Studies (JQoLS) is an international, peer-reviewed journal published by UPM Press. The journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for scholarly work on quality of life, subjective well-being, and the social, economic, environmental, health, cultural, educational, technological, and policy conditions that shape human lives, with particular relevance to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
JQoLS gives particular attention to Southeast Asian contexts, while also welcoming studies from other regions that offer clear international, comparative, theoretical, methodological, practical, or policy relevance. The journal publishes scholarly work that examines how individuals, families, communities, institutions, and societies experience, sustain, and improve life quality across diverse contexts. Submissions may focus directly on quality of life or well-being, or address broader issues that have meaningful implications for human experience, community life, policy, sustainability, or societal development.
The journal encourages contributions from a wide range of disciplines and methodological traditions, including studies on living conditions, social inclusion, health, education, work, family, community, governance, culture, environment, technology, and human development.
The journal was founded by the Department of Social and Development Sciences at the Faculty of Human Ecology, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
